About Michael
Meet Michael Koenen
With over 30 years of experience as a registered nurse, both in Australia and internationally, Michael has dedicated his life to health, healing, and personal transformation. His career spans a diverse range of sectors, from nursing and adult education to holistic approaches to mental and physical well-being. Wanting to shift his focus, Michael trained as a Systemic and Family Constellation facilitator with two elders in the field, Edwina Van Der Westhuizen and Margarete Koenning. He brings a deep understanding of human relationships and patterns to his practice, helping individuals navigate complex emotional and systemic dynamics.
Michael has completed the professional training in Compassionate Inquiry®, a psychotherapeutic approach developed by Dr. Gabor Maté and Sat Dharam Kaur ND. This gentle, yet profound, method uncovers layers of childhood trauma, constriction, and suppressed emotion that are often at the root of mental and physical illness. Michael believes that healing begins when individuals feel safe enough to connect with their present selves and embrace their vulnerabilities. Through compassion, he helps clients discover their authenticity and heal on a deep, transformative level. He is currently deepening his understanding and completing the mentorship training.
Michael's passion for healing extends beyond traditional healthcare. For over a decade, he has immersed himself in bee-centric stewardship, learning from the natural wisdom of bees. His work with bees has deepened his connection to nature and life’s interconnectedness, inspiring him to mentor others through courses that explore this unique relationship.
With 3 decades of meditation experience under the guidance of his teacher Lama Ole Nydahl, Michael has also guided and taught meditation practices to groups, further enhancing his holistic approach to health. His wisdom and calm presence provide comfort and guidance to individuals and families navigating all stages of life.
