Michael, together with his wife Sandy offer Group and Nature Constellation workshops.
When it comes to Constellations, any verbal account fails to capture the essence of the work because the method is so profoundly interactive and experiential. It arises and evolves through the sensations, feelings and direct knowing of the participants – their internal awareness, their consciousness – and this is where the learning and transformation take place.
Some key features of Constellations:
it works with a group of people who have no prior knowledge of the system being investigated and they ‘represent’ parts of that system as a living map;
By paying attention to their bodily sensations, emotions and thoughts, individuals are able to access accurate information about their relevant roles;
A trained facilitator uses both the information that emerges and their theoretical understanding to guide the process – seeking insight and guidance as to the next steps to benefit all parts of the system.

Family Constellations
Unlike traditional talk therapies, a family constellation workshop doesn't focus on discussing past events. The facilitator and workshop participants take information from the energy field that surrounds the client to help them unlock and address disharmonies within their life. Using surrogates can help the individual address and resolve past or current issues to move forward in life. This therapeutic approach is known to cause a ripple effect, from people in the extended family to the circle of friendship.
Intergenerational trauma transfer – is the term used to explain how the trauma and the difficult fates and choices made by our ancestors, influence us subconsciously. Healing this trauma or stopping its transfer requires acknowledging that it exists, and that we are somehow connected with a past we did not experience in this body and time.
We then need to identify with the part of our system (family or other) that is entangled and re-establish the correct working order within that system. We then release ourselves and our children from repetitively reliving the effects of these past events.
Family/Systemic Constellations offer skills for healing intergenerational trauma and destructive patterns which manifest as unresolvable health, relationship or career issues.
Nature Constellations
This is a method that can help people understand and improve their relating with any aspect of nature.
The benefits can take place at many levels, from a simple shift towards appreciating other species more fully, to very specific insights about situations they are facing.
Nature Constellations include other-than-human beings, so human representatives may be set up as, for example, animals or plants. By tuning into how they feel, we may access information about the beings they are representing, effectively giving a voice to aspects of Nature that might otherwise not be heard.
This process of ‘representing’ parts of nature, of stepping into another’s paws… or roots… can be powerfully transformative for people, regardless of what information is revealed!
How Do Constellations Work?
At the beginning of a group family constellation a client presents an issue, and then the facilitator asks other workshop participants to represent specific members of the clients family system.
Each participant taps into the energy field of the system to understand their role. The representatives may experience sadness, fear, anger and a range of other emotions which may come up as they tune in to the energy of the relationships.
Without the client sharing anything, the story behind each relationship unfolds through the participants.
This is enlightening for the client as it allows them to see their family through a different lens, and understand their place in the system.
