Psychotherapy

Many of us have a healthy awareness, what we need and should do to either stay healthy mentally and physically and gain health again. But, it seems knowing this is not enough. We are still not able to shift our way of thinking and behaviour and the way we feel.

Michaels intention is to help you recognise dynamics that unconsciously affect our lives and walk with you to liberate yourself from them.

Why Choose Psychotherapy?

Compassionate Enquiry

“The purpose of the Compassionate Inquiry is to drill down to the core stories people tell themselves – to get them to see what story they are telling themselves unconsciously; what those beliefs are, where they came from; and guide them to the possibility of letting go of those stories, or letting go of the hold those stories have on them …" Dr Gabor Maté

Trauma and the mind body connection.

Trauma, especially from early life, is often stored in the body, manifesting as emotional and psychological patterns that persist into adulthood. Instead of just focusing on changing thoughts or behaviours, the clients is invited to uncover the ways the body holds onto these experiences.

Client Led Exploration

Rather than providing solutions or directions, the client is encouraged to explore inner experiences at their own pace. Michaels role is to ask reflective questions, offer gentle observations, and create a space where people feel safe enough to let their truths emerge.

Compassion and the Therapeutic Relationship

The heart of Compassionate Inquiry lies in the therapeutic relationship itself. Michael aims to approach clients with deep compassion, creating an environment where they feel safe to explore even the most vulnerable parts of themselves. In this space, they can examine emotions and memories they might have otherwise kept hidden.

Understanding Patterns of Adaptation

An important aspects of this work is helping clients recognise the ways they’ve adapted to past trauma or pain. Often, these adaptations—such as emotional avoidance, negative self-beliefs, or people-pleasing—were necessary for survival at some point. Compassionate Inquiry allows us to explore these patterns without judgment, helping clients understand why they developed them and how they might no longer serve them. By honouring these adaptations , clients are able to release them and move towards healing.

Family & Systemic Constellations

Constellations are a beautiful way to explore patterns that go beyond ones personal influence. Sometimes we have done a lot of work on ourselves and are still not able to shift certain things in our lives.
We need to understand that we are not separate from our family, and the world around us, each influencing the other.
Very often, particularly in our younger years, out of loyalty to our family we have taken on responsibilities that were not ours to carry as a child.
These patterns persist in our lives and influence our love relationships, work and social connections.
Constellations can uncover these unconscious entanglements and what holds us back, and then release them so we are able to express our full potential.
